Dallas skyline at night

Vivienne arrived back at the hotel from her business meeting frazzled. She hadn’t planned on a trip to Dallas, but the client wasn’t happy and threatening to pull the plug on the deal. Hence she now found herself here in the South, far from the buzz and constant motion of Washington, DC, and worn out from the short-notice trip and stress of the meeting she just finished with the client. Fortunately she was successful in smoothing their ruffled feathers to keep the deal in place, but since the meeting went so well, she now found herself facing an extra day in Dallas and nothing to do. Vivienne contemplated moving her flight up to leave earlier and get back to the office but decided against that. Instead she would take the day tomorrow to do something completely out of the norm for her – relax. The 60-hour work weeks these past few months were taking their toll, and she needed a break. So she decided to take the day for herself and experience what Dallas had to offer since she had never been here before.

Normally self-assured and confident, Vivienne suddenly felt unsure of herself. She was tired of always doing activities by herself. As a successful account executive, she had sacrificed her personal life climbing the corporate ladder, and when she was honest with herself, she reluctantly had to admit, she was lonely. She was too busy for the complications of a boyfriend in her life. Wouldn’t it be great if you could have a boyfriend that gave you what you needed and then disappeared? And Lord knows she has needs! She was on her third Rabbit from wearing the motor out!

Then Vivienne remembered something her friend Gail had mentioned no too long ago. There was an agency that would provide a temporary boyfriend experience for a night, a weekend, or a week, whatever you needed, and they had some of the hottest male companions around. Cowboys4Angels. Seems like an appropriate name given she found herself in Dallas, land of the Cowboys. She quickly grabbed her computer to check if they had any companions in Dallas. Yes, they did! Looking through the bios online, she decided Adrian would fit the bill perfectly for a male companion. Before she could talk herself out of it, she quickly dialed the number and made her appointment.

Adrian

The knock on the hotel room door came just as Vivienne was putting the finishing touches on her makeup. She felt a shiver go down her spine and swore her whole body was tingling with anticipation. She smoothed her dress and literally glided across the room. The sight that greeted her when she opened the door left her speechless. Adrian was even better looking in person, and there he stood with a smile on his face and flowers in his hand, looking extremely handsome in his fitted dress pants and open-collar shirt. The tingles turned to lightning bolts inside her when Adrian took her hand and kissed it. This was going to be an experience to remember, Vivienne thought as they headed out.

The consummate gentleman, Adrian opened the car door for her and she slipped into the seat anticipating the night’s adventure. They chatted easily on the drive across town for dinner. As they pulled up to Reunion Tower, Vivienne looked up in awe. As she looked back at Adrian puzzled, his eyes twinkled as he informed her he had already made dinner reservations for them at Five-Sixty, the rotating rooftop restaurant. In the elevator, Adrian held her hand and pulled her close. They shared the first of what would be many kisses that night, magnifying the flutter in her stomach from the ride to the sky. Wine and dinner flowed effortlessly like the conversation as they shared stories of their travel adventures.

After dinner, they headed to Plush, a favorite nightclub in Dallas. Adrian must have known all the right people to get them in and seated at a VIP booth upstairs where they cuddled, kissed and watched the bodies moving to the music on the dance floor below. Adrian led Vivienne by the hand up a staircase. She had no idea where they were going until the entire city unfolded in front of her as they stepped out on the terrace. She felt Adrian’s arms encircle her waist as he kissed her neck in between pointing out Dallas landmarks, and she leaned into his chest as her knees weakened with desire.

Arriving back at the hotel, Adrian companioned Vivienne back to her room for a nightcap. The electricity between them was palpable as they sipped their drinks. While sharing the molten chocolate cake they had brought back from the restaurant, Adrian caressed her lip with his finger to collect a stray dribble of chocolate sauce and licked it. Vivienne’s whole body was on fire as they locked in a steamy embrace.

As Vivienne fixed her hair in the mirror in the morning, Adrian wrapped his chiseled arms around her, and she couldn’t think of a single need left unmet the night before. Yet there were still more surprises in store. Adrian shared his fair city with Vivienne in a fabulous sight seeing adventure that took them through the Dallas Arts District, Nasher Sculpture Center, and Autumn at the Arboretum. Holding hands and strolling through the sights as if they had known each other forever, the day whizzed by in a blur. As the sun set on the city, they visited the Festival at the Switchyard where they noshed on local food and swayed to the music of Three Doors Down.

Just when Vivienne thought the day couldn’t get any better, one final stop proved her wrong. As Adrian led her by the hand through Fountain Place, she admired his delicious shape chiseled by years of soccer and weights. The soft glow of the lights reflecting on drizzling water created a magical aura around them. But nothing compared to the magic of Adrian’s kiss as he cradled her in his arms.

As Vivienne stared out the plane window on her flight home, she replayed the past 36 hours in her mind. Maybe boyfriends aren’t so complicated after all. One thing was for sure. Forget the rabbit! For all her needs, she’ll be getting a Cowboy!
