Amber loved her work, but she was ready for a break. As a busy executive for a chemical company, she had climbed the ladder relatively quickly. During her climb up the corporate ladder, she didn’t have much time for other activities due to her busy schedule. But that was all beginning to change. Now that she had reached the Vice President level, she could breathe a little, having already proven herself.

As Amber looked across the room at her calendar, she knew a vacation wasn’t far off. Next month is her class reunion back home in Austin. On one hand, she looked forward to the reunion so she could catch up with her girlfriends, but on another hand, she dreaded the reunion and seeing her old boyfriend Derek. Her success would impress everyone, but showing up at the reunion alone would have Derek gloating. She definitely didn’t want that! What she needed was a guy for rent just for that night.

Amber tried to get back to her work, but the thought kept nagging her. She knew it was a crazy idea, but surely there had to be a way to snag a hot date for the reunion who could pretend to be her boyfriend for the night. True to her nature, she decided to research it – after work.

That night at home, she pulled out her laptop and started her search mission. Surprisingly, it didn’t take long at all. As soon as she put boyfriend companion into the search block, she got a hit and found an companion company called Cowboys 4 Angels. Hmmm, never heard of them before.

As Amber perused the agency’s website, she was impressed. The men were gorgeous, well groomed, fit, and educated. Best of all, they had men in Austin! She decided to call the number just to check the company out. She was shocked when a real person answered the phone, let alone the CEO of the company. As she talked with him, she felt surprisingly calm. He explained the history of the company, talked about the hit Showtime show Gigolos his men starred in, and asked her what she was looking for. She explained about her reunion and the desire to not attend alone. They discussed options, and by the end of the conversation, Amber chose Brody as her date for the reunion. Garren assured her that Brody would be perfect for the event.

As time passed and the date of her reunion got closer, Amber started to get both excited and nervous. She didn’t feel prepared to face the majority of people at her class reunion, least of all Derek. What if Brody couldn’t be convincing as her boyfriend? What if the whole night was awkward with a perfect stranger? Amber second guessed herself several times and was tempted to cancel her appointment She talked herself out of it by reminding herself that she needed to show everyone there, especially Derek, how successful she was in her career and life (even if part of it was a little lie).

Before Amber knew it, she was less than a week away from her vacation and the reunion. She was starting to truly get excited now. She kept looking over Brody’s profile on the Cowboys 4 Angels website and admiring his photos. She hoped he was as amazing in person. She looked forward to reconnecting with her girlfriends who would also be in town for the reunion. It would be nice to catch up. She wondered what they would think if they knew she hired her date. Oh well, it is what it is. Being successful in her career meant she didn’t have much time for a social life.

The next few days flew by, and before Amber knew it, she was at her hotel in Austin getting ready for the reunion. She had picked the perfect dress to show off her figure, after all tonight was all about appearances. Looking in the mirror, she had to admit, she cleaned up pretty well. Just then, she heard the knock at the door and smiled. Time to make Derek jealous.

As she opened the door, she thought she was dreaming. Brody was the picture of perfection in his suit. He smiled at her and extended a single red rosebud. As he did, his hazel eyes twinkled and she felt the flutter of butterflies in stomach.

“Welcome home Amber. You look amazing! Are you ready to dazzle everyone else at the reunion?”

Amber liked his confidence. She accepted the flower and invited him in. She had asked him to come a little early so they could talk a bit to ensure their story looked believable. They chatted comfortably, and Amber was impressed with his resume in the retail and modeling professions. His lean, chiseled physique was even more impressive. She filled him in on her career with the chemical company, hobbies, likes and dislikes. She also filled him in on Derek, their history, and the impression she wanted to make tonight.

Brody took her hand and said, “You have nothing to worry about. You have accomplished what most could only dream of. You look amazing, and you’ll be the envy of everyone there. Now let’s get this show started.”

As they walked into the ballroom, Brody put his arm around her waist, kissed her on the cheek, and whispered in her ear. “Time for our grand entrance.”

They went to check in, and before they even left the table, two of Amber’s girlfriends, Karen and Lacy, came running up to them. The girls squealed and hugged hello. Amber introduced Brody to them. As they looked him up and down, Lacy said, “Girl, you’ve been keeping some serious secrets. You didn’t even tell us you had a man, let alone one this fine” Amber laughed as Brody put his arm around her shoulder and said “Well, thank you for the compliment, Lacy.”

They excused themselves to head to the bar. As they walked away, they could hear the two girls whispering in hushed tones. Amber chuckled.

“Test one complete, and you passed with flying colors.”

After getting their drinks, they mingled comfortably around the room. Amber felt as if she had known Brody for years. At times, it even felt as if they were really a couple. They ate dinner at a table with a few of Amber’s friends. She was amazed at how easily Brody chatted with them and their dates.

The reunion was going amazingly well. Brody was a dream. He held her hand occasionally, whispered in her ear a few times, looked at her with a gleam in his eye, and was a total gentleman. Amber felt like she had the hottest date at the reunion.

When the band kicked in after dinner, Amber found out Brody was not only romantic, but a great dancer as well. As they danced up a storm, she could feel her friends’ eyes on them. As they were coming off the dance floor, Amber nearly ran headlong into Derek. When she looked up, she caught her breath.

“Amber. Wow, you look amazing. I wondered if you would be here,” he said.

“Derek, how great to see you. Yea, I was able to take vacation from work to make it. Derek, this is my boyfriend Brody.”

Brody shook his hand strongly and looked him straight in the eye, “Nice to meet you Derek.” Turning to Amber, he said, “Honey, let’s get you something to drink after all that dancing. You’ve got me all fired up.”

Arm in arm they strolled to the bar, and Amber could feel Derek staring at them. “Very nice touch!” she said.

They spent the rest of the night dancing and laughing. They hit it off so well, at times Amber forgot they weren’t a couple. During a slow song, she leaned into Brody’s arms and put her head on his chest as they swayed to the music. She could see Derek watching them from the corner of her eye, and it made her smile.

Amber and Brody looked like the perfect couple, and it was a perfect evening. Everyone at the reunion thought he was her boyfriend. her friends were impressed, and Derek was jealous. Mission complete.

Heading back to the hotel, Amber had to admit she liked this guys for rent scenario. She would definitely be using Cowboys 4 Angels again to supply a man when she needed one. Next time though, it would be for a real vacation with more time to enjoy him.

Ever wonder how men and women “prep” for encounters? It’s time to talk about the great scape. No, not great escape, but rather, great landscape, and whether to scape or not.

AskMen conducted a survey to figure out what guys’ attitudes are toward male and female personal grooming, and the results are in. Just the bare facts: it turns out that when it comes to guys’ preferences on grooming, less really is more and the Brazilian is king. In the survey, 41% of respondents said that they prefer women to have no hair down there. Close second was 38% of respondents preferring some well-groomed and trimmed hair.

If that sounds confusing (41% of men want something, 38% of men want something else), the survey also revealed that the men apply the same standard to themselves.

When asked “Do you feel pressure to groom your own pubic hair?” Almost half of the men said they groomed themselves because of personal preference; about 40% admitted that they either felt pressure because of general “man-scaping” standards, or because they felt that if women were grooming themselves, they should as well. Only 12% of men said they felt “no pressure” to groom. A few male respondents even admitted to having Brazilian waxes, sometimes known as “bikini waxes,” themselves.

Our male companions pride themselves on their whole appearance, including the landscaping. Our men look their best in EVERY aspect. Could they show as much as they do in their photos without doing that? But they also subscribe to the sentiment below. There is no expectation of a certain standard from a woman. It is what she feels most sexy and comfortable with.

The AskMen survey noted that men found a woman who “didn’t fuss about grooming but was comfortable in her own skin” to be sexier than a “woman who put as much time and money as it takes into making sure she fits your idea of perfection” by 63% to 37%. Additionally, an overwhelming amount of men, 85%, said that their personal preferences wouldn’t cause them to alter the course of a date or relationship.

“While I have personal preferences, a woman has the final say in what she wants to do with her area down below,” said one respondent. “No way. If that’s what she likes you won’t change her mind. It will be how she feels sexiest, and why change that.

Our men believe all women are beautiful and sexy. It is individuality that contributes to each woman’s sexiness, so do what makes you feel best. You’ll have our undivided attention no matter what.

Maribel looked out across the field. She was proud of her new life. Starting over had been difficult, but she was finally comfortable in her new skin. Somewhere in her marriage she had lost herself. She started doing things on autopilot, not because she wanted to, but because she felt it was expected of her. After a while, it was suffocating, and she just had to get out.

She kept to herself and only formed relationships with a few people for business purposes. She worked smartly and ended up with several heads of cattle and a few hands to work them .

By her third year, she was doing well. She had steady income, good land, and hard working hands who respected her decisions. She knew just enough about farm life to know that she needed to surround herself with the right people to keep things running smoothly.

Things weren’t perfect though. Maribel was lonely. Most of the people in town looked at her as an outsider who had swooped in, so they were pretty cold to her. She hadn’t dated in quite a while. With Internet dating all the rage, maybe she could find someone that way since there weren’t really any prospects locally. The thought of it made her nervous though. After more than a week of exchanges, it was time to coordinate the initial meeting with Jax. They decided that for their meeting, she would introduce him to her world, and he would introduce her to his.  As she prepared to head to Vegas, Maribel had to admit she was nervous. It had been far too long since she had a first date.

Maribel arrived in Vegas feeling excited but out of her element. This wasn’t the ranch. It was a very different life – a life of glitz and glamour. She arrived in town a few hours before she was supposed to meet Jax. She checked into her hotel and tried to quell her nerves.

When Jax arrived to pick her up, Maribel’s heart skipped a beat. He was even better looking than his photos, but more importantly, he was so down to earth and sweet. He gave her a hug and kissed her cheek in greeting.

“So nice to meet you Maribel. I can’t wait to be introduced to your world”

“I’m nervous about being introduced to yours,” Maribel laughed in return.

They drove about an hour outside of town. On the ride, the conversation flowed easily. The attraction was there—the chemistry. As they continued to drive and chat, Jax held Maribel’s hand, gently teasing her senses with his fingertips. He seemed surprised that his slightest touch to her seemed to take her breath away. It was as if she was highly charged, ready to explode at any second. The scent of her cologne filled the car, tantalizing his senses.

They arrived at the ranch and their horse were saddled and waiting for them. Maribel was grinning from ear to ear.

“Ready to ride, Cowboy?”

“Yes, my lovely Cowgirl.”

And they were off, laughing as the horses took off across the field. They followed the trails, enjoying the scenery and thankful for the occasional shade from the heat. When they reached the creek, they dismounted, enjoying the feel of the cool water running through their fingers. Maribel playfully splashed Jax, and he returned the favor. Despite the water, the electricity flowed between them.

Jax noticed a wall of greenish black clouds in the distance. Holding up his hands in surrender, he suggested they head back.

“If we don’t get going soon, we’re going to be stuck out here riding the storm out. I  need to get you back safely ”

Maribel agreed, looking up at the darkening sky. She could feel the wind change. It was gusting now, and she could almost smell the rain.

Maribel mounted her horse and watched as Jax easily climbed onto his, with his long legs stretched to the stirrups. Maribel bit her bottom lip watching him, wondering to herself how she’d gone so long without a man. The thought surprised her and she shook her head.

They made the ride back, chatting about life, as the wind picked up. The first raindrops were beginning to fall as they approached the barn. They tucked the horses safely away and headed back to town. The sky was black now the rain was coming in sheets, blowing horizontally.

Maribel’s perfume was all Jax could smell, making it impossible for him to concentrate on anything but the scent of her. Maribel was equally distracted. It had been a long time since she’d felt this relaxed with anyone, let alone a man she found so attractive. His light t-shirt was clinging to his body, contrasting against the dark blue jeans and his tan. She fought the urge to run her fingertips down his chest. Maribel felt herself blush at the rush of tantalizing thoughts. She knew she shouldn’t be fantasizing about all the things she wanted to do with him, but she couldn’t take her eyes off of him.

Once back at the hotel, Maribel felt the butterflies in her stomach slowly start to beat into a frenzy. She knew they were supposed to go out, but she wanted to stay in. The heat between them practically caused their wet clothes to steam. As Jax leaned in close, the rest of the city faded into nonexistence. The hell with the city. She had her very own Cowboy right here. No need for the ride to stop.

As an executive for a pharmaceutical company, Lily travels all over the country. Constantly flying and being on the go is taking a toll on her. She rarely sees her condo, and there just isn’t much time for anything fun. She has been on the road for 18 days this month already and heads to Nashville next week for meetings. A country music lover, she is contemplating spending the weekend in the city just to have some downtime. But what’s the point of staying in a romantic city like Nashville alone? Loneliness seems to be the story of her life since making executive. Granted she worked hard to get where she is and the money is good, but she seems to have no life outside of work.

She settles in on the couch to watch her DVR recordings from this week in a rare moment of downtime. It’s time for some binge watching with her favorite shows. It feels good to just relax for a change. “Shameless” on Showtime is one of her little indulgences. The characters are quirky, and it’s a guaranteed laugh. As Lily gets up to grab a drink refill when the episode come to a close, a promo for a new show catches her eye. Damn, those guys are hot! She never heard of the show “Gigolos.” But she sure wishes she had! On her way back with her drink, she grabs her laptop. On the Showtime website, she looks up the Gigolos series. Damn, these guys are real life male companions! She looks up the Cowboys 4 Angels website. As she’s looking at the hot guys who fill up the page, she wonders how it is she never knew this company existed. As she reaches the bottom of the webpage, she sees something that practically has her leaping off the couch. OMG, they actually have guys in Nashville! Problem solved for next weekend!

Lily couldn’t believe she was actually calling the number.  Her hands were shaking. She was absolutely floored when the CEO of the company, Garren James, answered the phone. Garren talked with her to learn what she was looking for in an companion and in her experience. When she hung up the phone, Lily was completely comfortable with what she had arranged. Until her trip at the end of the week, she would catch up on some past episodes of Gigolos.

She arrived in Nashville on Thursday night, so she could be ready for meetings all day Friday. Lily was so excited about meeting her companion the next evening, she could hardly sleep. It was a very restless night. Even though she felt a little tired in the morning, she also felt energized about what was ahead of her.

Lily’s busy day of meetings flew by quickly. She was exhausted by the end of the day, but the thought of the hot date waiting for her kept her pushing through. When she arrived back to her hotel, she let her hair down and started the process of unwinding from her day. Now it was time to do something for herself. She took a long, hot shower to let the day wash away. Then she set aside the executive and slid into the feminine side of her persona. Tonight was all about feeling like a lady.

When she heard the knock at the door, she got goose bumps. Time to finally met Jonn. The piercing blue eyes caught Lily off guard when she answered the door, leaving her speechless. Jonn smiled and kissed her on the cheek.

“So nice to meet you Lily. I’ve been looking forward to tonight.”

Finding her voice finally, Lily managed to squeak out in reply, “So have I.” And they headed to the car.

She said laughing, “I hope you know where we are going, because I don’t. I am done making decisions, so the night is in your hands.”

Jonn grinned at her slyly, “Don’t worry pretty lady. I’ve got you covered.”

They pulled up to Ryman Auditorium, which is where the Grand Ole Opry performance is being performed. Lily felt like a giddy school girl as she grinned from ear to ear. All the tension of the week instantly disappeared. Time for the fun to begin. As they sat in the auditorium, it felt like they were in the “Mother Ship” of Country music,” This is where it all began! He slides his arm around your shoulder as you both take in the show, swaying and singing along. After the performance, he promenades you, arm in arm, back to the car.

“Are you hungry?” he asks.

“I actually am. Can we hit a good local joint know for something special?”

“I know just the place!”

Before Lily knew it, they were at Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, known for their “Nashville style” chicken. Over dinner they talked about their work and life in general. Gazing at those blue eyes over her chicken, Lily wasn’t sure if it was just Jonn, or maybe partly the sauce with a little kick of heat, but she was definitely feeling more hot than bothered right about now. Back at the hotel, the heat kicked up even hotter, turning the night into an inferno.

Awakening, Lily looked at the beauty before her.

“Get ready to cater to your vices my lady.”

Lily had shard her love of the occasional whisky and cigar yesterday, so today they were headed to sample the amber nectar of Tennessee, with a visit to the Jack Daniel’s Distillery, which sits about an hour outside of Nashville. As they toured the distillery, Lily looked forward to tasting “Old No. 7,” but she looked forward even more to another taste of her Cowboy companion.

The tour of Nashville wasn’t over yet though. They next headed to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. They wandered through the galleries taking a guided tour of the infamous “RCA Studio B,” learning all about the history of this legendary recording studio. Jonn certainly knew how to stroke Lily’s keys with his soft whisperings in her ear. He definitely had her heart singing a new tune.

After dinner at Husk, Jonn took Lily to a local Country clothing store, helping her pick out a corset top and lace-tiered skirt. Lily felt like a total lady.  Her Adonis grabbed her by the hand for a do-si-do at the local honky-tonk bar “Second Fiddle.” They hopped from one watering hole to another, line dancing at the Wild Beaver Saloon and ending the night at Big Bang Nashville. Dancing in the arms of her Cowboy, Lily felt a cosmic explosion that lasted the rest of the night.

As she headed home on Sunday, Lily knew this wasn’t her last rodeo with her Cowboy. She definitely would be taking another ride in Nashville!

I never was much of a basketball fanatic until my son started playing the sport in high school. The coach said Bobby was a natural, and he played really well. So well in fact, that he earned a basketball scholarship to Duke University. Which was a good thing, considering I’m a single parent, and putting him through college will be difficult for me.

Well now, I’m a complete college basketball fanatic, and the NCAA March Tournament is my favorite time of the year. It’s complete madness! This year, my son’s team made the tournament and will play in Anaheim, and I’ll be flying out for it. I’m looking forward to a mini-vacation with this trip.

It’s been a long time since I did anything for myself. My sold focus for the past 19 years has been raising Bobby. But now that he is off to college and starting to build his own life, it’s time for me to start rebuilding mine. While I’m excited about going to Anaheim, I’m completely unfamiliar with the area. I had always been tempted to hire a male companion when I traveled for work to learn about the cities I visited but always backed down.

This time, I’m not going to back down! After all these years of sacrificing, I deserve this. So I Google male companions for Anaheim. In looking at the available men, I chose Knox. He is athletic, handsome, and a businessman, And those blue eyes and bad boy tattoos just called out to me when I looked at his profile. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm.

I made the short flight to Anaheim Friday afternoon. I would get to see Bobby tonight before he had to get ready for the big game on Saturday. Duke kept a pretty tight rein on the players when they traveled. We met at the Starbucks right outside the hotel where the team was staying, which fortunately was two blocks from my hotel. It was so nice to catch up over a latte. He is growing up so fast!  I won’t get to see him after the game tomorrow night because the team will be leaving to head back to campus right afterward. With a hug, a kiss and good luck wishes for a great game, I sent him back to his hotel to get a good night’s sleep.

As I headed back to my hotel, I wondered if I would sleep tonight. I was nervous about meeting Knox tomorrow, after all, I have no idea what to expect. At the same time, I’m excited about the encounter, too.

I got up in the morning and hit the gym. It’s part of my routine and one of the reasons why I don’t look my age. I grabbed a yogurt parfait for breakfast and then hit the shower to get myself ready. Knox will be picking me up at noon so we can grab lunch and do a little sightseeing before the game.

As I finish putting the final touches on my makeup, I hear the knock on the door. My heart races, and I can hardly breathe. I will myself to walk to the door. When I open it, I’m met by a sight better than I could have ever imagined. Knox is gorgeous! He greets me with a smile, eyes sparkling, and a peck n the cheek, and asks if I’m ready to go. I grab my things, he takes my hand, and we’re off.

We headed to the Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center. As a nonprofit that brings diverse, creative and innovative exhibits to the community, they have some really cool exhibitions. While we were there, they had two different sessions going on the Master Craft of Woodworking and The Egg Paint Art Event. It was very interesting.  By the time we finished looking at both exhibits, we were famished.

Time for lunch. We headed to Slater’s 50/50, known for their amazing burgers. We had some of their famous Vampire Dip – rich, cheesy artichoke goodness. As we ate, we talked about basketball, my son’s future aspirations, and Knox shared stories of his athletic background with me. Looking across at him, I couldn’t believe how easy the conversations was. It was as if we had known each other for years. At one point in the conversation, Knox tenderly reached over to run his finger across my lip. Apparently I had a splatter of cheese dip. That one touch sent a tingle straight down my spine. I think I must have blushed a little because he chuckled and gave me a wink. We finished lunch with a 50/50  Bison burger with red peppers and gouda cheese for me and a PB & J Burger for him. I felt stuffed when we were done.

We had some time before we had to be at the arena for the game, so we went to Newport Harbor and walked along the pier. It felt so comfortable as we walked arm in arm laughing and talking. The harbor was filled with colorful sails as the sailboats skimmed across the water. As much as I love the ocean, I could have stayed there all day, but it was time for some basketball madness.

Knox knew he way around and had us at the arena in no time. As we settled into our seats, he put his arm around my shoulder. “Ready for some basketball?”

“Oh yes,” I replied as my face lit up.

The arena was packed! And the game was riveting! Heading into the half, Duke was up by 2, and Bobby was breaking free down the court. The whole place was on its feet. With an easy lay-up, he sunk the ball just before the buzzer. Before even realizing it, I was jumping up and down, cheering, and hugging Knox. As the realization set in, I suddenly stopped jumping, and with my arms around his neck, I looked in Knox’s eyes and blushed with embarrassment.

“Oh my gosh. I’m sorry. I got a little carried away,” I said.

He leaned down and whispered in my ear, “You can jump on me any time, pretty lady.” Looking down, I blushed a deep shade of red.

I barely remember the second half of the game. Duke won, moving on to the next round, and I was one proud Mom. We left the arena and headed back to the hotel. On the way we stopped for a late dinner at Roscoe’s Chicken N Waffles, where we shared an order.

When we got back to the hotel, we stopped in the lounge for a drink. The day had been wonderful, and I didn’t want it to end. In the elevator heading upstairs, I leaned into Knox with his steady arm around my waist. I could feel the heat between us. As I closed the door to the room and leaned back on it. Knox leaned in, the rest of the world faded away, and the heat exploded into a fireball.

It’s not often that one finds themselves in New Orleans for business, so Jade considered herself very lucky. As a company partner, she didn’t often negotiate deals herself, but she jumped at the opportunity to close this deal. It would be a nice little getaway, even if just for a night.

As she packed her suitcase, she packed a couple extra outfits for after her meetings. She wanted to explore and experience New Orleans in her time there. Part of her trip preparation included a call to her favorite Cowboy, Garren James, owner of the Cowboys 4 Angels male companion agency. He had always provided top notch gentlemen in the past when she needed someone for an event or vacation. Being a partner didn’t leave her much time for a social life, dating, or even trying to start a relationship. She much preferred to have the perfect boyfriend when she needed one and spare herself relationship drama the rest of the time. This trip, and an evening with a Cowboy on her arm, will be a nice little distraction. With plans complete, Jade headed to bed knowing her male companion would meet her in New Orleans.

Sitting at the circular, revolving bar at Carousel Piano Bar and Lounge, Jade sipped a French 007 while waiting for her male companion. The drop dead gorgeous Marcus Bagwell from Atlanta arrived but goes to the opposite side of the bar. His eyes sparkled as he gave Jade a wink and a smile. He coyly ordered a Sazerac, the official cocktail of New Orleans, never breaking eye contact. Entranced looking at Marcus, Jade didn’t notice the bartender in front of her. “Miss?” he says. Jolted back to reality, Jade broke her stare across the bar just in time to see the bartender holding a rose out to her. “The gentleman across the bar sends his greetings and would like to join you.”  Speechless, Jade simply nodded yes. Then she had the pleasure of watching her perfect specimen of a man walk around the carousel to take the seat next to hers. She felt his strong arm wrap around her waist, and just as she looked up at him, she slowly awakened, realizing she was tangled in her satin sheets. Damn! Dreaming about her companion before she even meets him! That never happened before. Memories of the dream had Jade super charged as she got ready for her flight. It won’t be long now, and I can turn that dream into reality, she mused.

Jade’s flight to New Orleans was smooth. She headed into her meetings confident and in control. The final negotiations went smoothly, and she had an inked deal in her hands by 2:00pm. Success! Now time to enjoy New Orleans and the reward of a little downtime. She headed back to her hotel, the Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast, to get ready for her “date”.

She had arranged to meet Marcus at the French Market’s Café Du Monde. Jade had heard about their famous beignets and coffee. She grabbed a table inside and waited, still charged from the dream last night. She hoped the real experience would be just as heavenly. As Marcus entered, their eyes met, and he flashed a smile at her. As he crossed the room, Jade stood to greet him.

Marcus gave her a hug and kissed her cheek as he said, “Jade darling, so great to see you. Congratulations on sealing another winning deal for your company.”

He looked like perfection in his chinos and pressed shirt, and his cologne was intoxicating. He was every bit as good as the dream. Jade could barely squeak out, “Thank you.”

They ordered some white, powdered sugar beignets and café au lait chicory coffees to go. As they wandered through the adjacent Jackson Square together, savoring their treats, they talked and laughed as if they had known each other for years. It was very comfortable, and they had a splendid time enjoying each other’s company.

While on the square, they saw a street performer conducting his act alongside a giant mirror. Jade caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and noticed white, powdered sugar on her lips and in a trail down the front of her shirt.  Glancing at Marcus, she noticed he looked pristine with no evidence of their confections on his clothes, and he was watching her with an amused expression as she surveyed herself in the mirror.

“Here, let me take care of that for you,” he said coyly. As his thumb brushed across her lips, she had to fight off the desire to pucker against it. And when his fingertips brushed the powdered sugar from her shirt, a jolt of electricity surged through her body, causing her to suck in her breath. “No more evidence of your indulgence.”

They headed to the Garden District and took a relaxing ride on the St. Charles Avenue streetcar. Marcus, with his chiseled muscles, had no trouble bracing Jade’s body, steadying her as the streetcar made its way through the breathtaking mansions of the American Sector. She leaned against him as they enjoyed the historical trip, finally ending back where they had started, near the famous Lafayette Cemetery No. 1.

For dinner, they headed to Commander’s Palace for some haute creole food. Jade dined on Breaux Bridge Crawfish Risotto, while Marcus chose the Curried Shrimp and Coconut. Jade couldn’t have felt any sexier than when Marcus fed her a taste of his dish from his fork, licking his lips as he watched her take the morsel. The ended the evening at the storied Maple Leaf Bar. The drinks and live brass band had Jade feeling flirtatious as they swayed to the music. She looked up at Marcus, feeling his arms wrapped around her waist, and whispered, “Will you give me a private Mardi Gras party? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”

“I do declare pretty lady; you just might make this southern boy blush,” he replied with a hearty chuckle.

They headed back to the hotel, and as Jade unlocked the door, she felt she was unlocking all the possibilities for how the night could end.  Who needs Bourbon Street when you have a Cowboy at your side?

After divorce, it can be tough getting back into the dating scene when you are newly single. Depending on the circumstances of your divorce, either it’s a relief because it was so long coming or it blindsided you and you’re still reeling. Either way, it takes some time to adjust to your new normal and think about wading back into the dating pool.

You might be thinking of yourself as damaged goods or craving intimacy like a dark chocolate bar after a month of clean eating, but it’s important to take your time and not dive too quickly into the deep end.

Mr. Ashton Kutcher Wannabe – He is the one who hits on you and claims to have a thing for older women, claiming you are so much hotter than girls his age. While he may be tempting because you are flattered at the swooning attention, he is just looking for a booty call and bragging rights with his friends.
