As a high powered executive for a technology company, Liz stays on the road quite a bit. Her next stop is Anaheim, California. After the last six months, all the travel was starting to get to her. So she decided to spend a couple of extra days in Cali to take advantage of the sunshine and relax a bit. The only problem was she didn’t know anyone in town. Usually she has friends everywhere she travels that she can hang out with. Then Liz remembered something she had read a couple days earlier. Cowboys 4 Angels had just added some guys from Orange County to their stable!

Yes, she has taken advantage of their services before. Don’t judge! What’s a girl who is too busy for dating or a relationship supposed to do? They make it super easy to have a companion just when you need one. She hired their male companions a couple of times to attend corporate events with her, and they were always top notch. Deciding that was the way to spend her relaxation days, Liz picked up the phone and called.

The weather was perfect for her trip. The clear sky and rays of sunshine made the water dance like diamonds. Her meetings were successful and Liz scored a million-dollar client.  She felt on top of the world, and her decision to stay and relax a few days felt like a great reward. Looking out over the water, Liz daydreamed about the Cowboy she would meet later. She hoped he would live up to the fantasy she was creating in her mind.

Warmed by the sun and feel exhilarated, Liz headed back to the hotel to get ready. Her focus now was on unwinding and relaxing, and as she slipped into the shower, her thoughts drifted to the Cowboy she soon would meet.

As Liz was putting the finishing touches on her lipstick, she heard the knock on her door, and her heart skipped a beat. Time to meet her male companion for the next couple days. When she opened the door, her breath caught in her throat. Blake’s pictures didn’t do him justice. In person, he was even more striking as his tall frame leaned casually against the doorway in dark slacks and a light blue shirt, extending a rose out to her. She swore she felt electricity when her hand brushed his as she accepted the flower. She grabbed her purse, Blake took her hand, and they were off for the evening.

Blake opened the door of the car and gently closed it once she had settled into her seat. Technology was something they had in common, so they chatted easily about that and the area as they drove to dinner. The conversation flowed so easily it felt as if she was with an old friend. Before she knew it, they were pulling up to The Resort at Pelican Hill. He took her hand to help her out of the car and slipped his arm around the small of her back as they walked into the restaurant. Once again she felt the electricity go through her.

They toasted her client success with a glass of wine as they shared seared scallops. They dined on amazing pasta dinners with gelato as dessert. Liz was feeling the effects of the day and the wine combined. As they drove back to the hotel, she relaxed into her seat, enjoying view during the drive as well as the view of Blake in the driver’s seat.

She leaned against him in the elevator as they made their way back to her room. She truly was feeling relaxed. Before the door even clicked closed, Liz was slipping her shoes off to further relax. Blake poured them each a drink. They stood on the balcony looking at the water and lights, and Liz swore she was in heaven. As they took in the night sky, Blake rubbed her shoulders, expertly massaging the day and the stress of months on the road out of her. She relaxed into the massage as the tingles in her body drowned out every other thought. As Blake wrapped her in his arms, the hot, damp air and sweet smell of his cologne were like a curtain closing on a day of dreams fulfilled.

Liz woke to the sight of Blake setting up breakfast. She marveled at how he seemed to know her every desire because all of her favorites were laid out before her. Energized with a granola, fruit and yogurt parfait and coffee, she was ready to start the day of sightseeing. Blake was an amazing guide, taking her to all of the hot spots in Orange County.

They started at Crystal Cove State Park, biking and hiking to the best lookout points. The sights were impressive, but they paled in comparison to the sight of Blake in his linen shorts and shirt by her side. She felt totally at ease in his company. Next they went to the impressive Crystal Cathedral, a structure comprised of more than 10,000 panes of glass. Liz was mesmerized as Blake rattled off facts about the building. He was so knowledgeable! As the day drew to a close, Liz found herself at Angel Stadium watching a free concert before the baseball game. Arm in arm, they swayed to the music. Liz was wishing this weekend would never end. At the game, they cheered on the Angels, and when a foul ball hurled toward their section, Blake expertly caught it and presented it to her as a souvenir. He was like a knight in shining armor, except he was impeccably dressed!

On the way back to the hotel, they stopped at Huntington Pier. They strolled hand in hand on the beach, gazing at the stars and listening to the waves crash against the shore. They discussed astronomy and oceanography and everything else imaginable. And when Liz caught a chill in the air and shivered, Blake drew her close to him, his arm wrapped around her like a blanket. She felt his breath on her ear as he whispered to her and his lips on her neck. The heat suddenly coursed through her and she felt slightly damp. The night air cooled her skin, while he heated her insides.

The drive back to the hotel was a blur. As she closed the door, he whispered in her ear. A fire consumed her, making the night as hot as the day. As she looked into his hazel eyes, his steamy glance ignited an inferno that begged to be quenched. The heat between them seemed to steam the room as the lights went out.

Liz leaned back in the seat as her flight left for home. She felt completely relaxed and refreshed. Nothing like a Cowboy encounter to help her keep a competitive edge.
