Lana was determined to enjoy this weekend getaway to New York City. After working 60-hour weeks for three months to close the biggest deal of her career, she was burned out. She was looking forward to recharging with the excitement and buzz of the city, especially in this lead up to the holidays.
As she settled into her hotel room, her mind wandered to the greatest gift of this weekend – the male companion she arranged through Cowboys 4 Angels. Her crazy work schedule didn’t leave much time for socializing, let alone dating, but she did not want to spend the weekend by herself. She was looking forward to enjoying the city with Trevor at her side. He is a fine specimen of a man with piercing blue eyes that Lana looks forward to getting lost in.
As she finished touching up her makeup, she heard the knock at her door, and her heart skipped a beat. Time to get out and enjoy the city! Opening the door, Lana’s eyes beheld the man of her earlier musings. His 6’2” body filled the door frame as he greeted her with a rose. He looked even better in person, and Lana felt her insides do a flip. Trevor took her hand and they were off for an evening on the town.
First stop Gramercy Tavern for dinner. As they strolled into the restaurant, Lana felt like a million bucks. She could see people looking and her and Trevor, and she reveled in the attention. Trevor pulled out her seat for her at their table and kissed her cheek as she settled into the seat. Conversation flowed easily as they feasted on Chicken and Mushroom soup, Pork loin, and custard pie with cherry sauce and bourbon ice cream. They toasted her successful business deal with wine as they chatted about Trevor’s Canadian heritage and his love of car racing, a passion they shared.
As Trevor helped her into the car after dinner, Lana felt a lightning bolt of electricity go through her when he held her hand. She looked into his blue eyes and felt the heat spread throughout her body. She fought to steady her breathing as the headed to their next destination. No holiday trip to new York City would be complete without a viewing of the tree at Rockefeller Plaza and some ice skating. Lana started to protest.
“I haven’t ice skated since I was a child,” she said.
“Well then time to do it again,” Trevor replied. “Besides, it’s just like riding a bike, and I will help you.”
They decided to do the ice skating first and then look at the tree and display windows. After lacing their skates, Trevor helped Lana to her feet. She gripped his hand tightly to keep her balance. As they started to skate around the rink, Lana could remember the feeling as a child, and it was a little like riding a bike. As they glided across the ice, Lana felt Trevor slide his hand around her waist to help keep her steady. She leaned against him, drinking in the smell of his cologne. After a while, the cold had Lana shivering. Trevor took her hands in his and blew on them to help warm them up. Lana felt herself get warm all over.
They grabbed a quick hot chocolate before their walk. As they strolled hand-in-hand around the plaza looking at the window displays and tree, Lana felt completely relaxed for the first time in months. A she soaked in the scenery nestled against Trevor, she could feel herself getting into the Christmas spirit.
They arrived back at the hotel, and Lana could feel the drain of the day’s activities on her. She leaned on Trevor as they rode the elevator up to the room. One inside, she slipped off her boots. That little bit of ice skating had her feeling sore. To soothe her aching muscles, Trevor massaged her shoulders and neck and then her feet. Lana felt like her whole body was on fire. The heat between them steamed the cold window to the outside, shutting out the rest of the city for the night.
Squinting to adjust to the morning light filtering through the curtains, Lana stretched to finish the waking process. As she did, she could see across the room Trevor had breakfast all set out for her. He had a full schedule planned for the day, so she would need her energy.
The day was a whirlwind as they toured the 9-11 Memorial, the Museum of the Intrepid, and took in an afternoon performance of The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. After a brief stop at the hotel to change for dinner, the headed out to the Bourbon Street Bar and Grille, followed by the Broadway musical The Lion King. After the show, they strolled Times Square. The city was alive and buzzing, and Lana could feel the energy of the city in her. She felt safe exploring the city with Trevor at her side.
They picked up dessert to take back to the room where they could relax. Snuggled together, they watch the twinkling of the city lights as they had a nightcap and ate their dessert. Trevor smoothed a strand of hair away from her eye and ran his finger across her lower lip to wipe a stray bit of chocolate. Lana’s insides melted. His smoldering eyes met hers and the heat flared around them. The rest of the city faded and Lana’s whole body flushed as the curtain closed on a day of fun and a night of pure romance.
In the taxi to the airport, Lana was back in work mode, making calls to line up her next deal. But she carried the relaxation of the weekend home with her as she remembered Trevor and the total bliss of her trip. She just might have to visit the Big Apple again sometime for another round of fun.
