Looking out across the ranch, Colleen felt pride. Starting over had been difficult, but she was finally comfortable in her new skin. She had lost herself in her marriage and eventually started doing things not because she wanted to, but because she felt it was expected. It became suffocating after a while, and she just had to get out. She built this ranch from the ground up over the past three years and it truly reflected her.
When Colleen had decided to head West, she ended up in Nevada, deciding that was west enough. She bought the land with an old farm house on it and began to build the life she always wanted. She stayed true to herself. It had been hard work, and she mostly kept to herself. The only people she really dealt with were people she did business with. She worked smartly, ending up with several heads of cattle and a few ranch hands to work them. She had gotten into the grass-fed beef market, and it was proving to be quite profitable.
She was doing well. She had steady income, good land, and hard working hands who respected her decisions. She knew just enough about farm life to know that she needed to surround herself with the right people to keep things running smoothly.
Things weren’t perfect though. Colleen was lonely. She had been so busy building her new life at the ranch, that she hadn’t really built much of a life for herself outside of the ranch. She hadn’t dated anyone since arriving in Nevada. With Internet dating all the rage, maybe she could find someone that way since there weren’t really any prospects locally. The thought of it made her nervous though because it just didn’t seem safe. This was completely uncharted territory for her. How would she know who she could trust?
Recently when she was looking for some new ranch hands, a strange website came up in her search. It was Cowboys 4 Angels, a male companion agency. She decided to give them a closer look. It wasn’t necessarily a dating agency, but it would allow her to practice interacting with a new person. Fortunately they had men close by in Las Vegas.
She called the number listed on the website, shocked to find herself speaking with the agency owner. She explained her situation and talked through the possibilities with him. He was very understanding and helpful. Together they decided on Angelo as her chosen suitor and made arrangement for her visit to the city.
As the time neared for her meeting with Angelo, Colleeen started to get extremely nervous. When she had spoken to Garren, they decided that for this meeting, she would introduce him to her world, and he would introduce her to his. As she prepared to head to Vegas, Colleen seriously debated on cancelling. It had been far too long since she had a first date. But she had to start somewhere, and she needed a break from the ranch.
Colleen arrived in Vegas feeling excited but out of her element. This wasn’t the ranch. It was a very different life – a life of glitz and glamour. She arrived in town a few hours before she was supposed to meet Angelo. She checked into her hotel and tried to quell her nerves.
When Angelo arrived to pick her up, Colleen’s heart skipped a beat. He was even better looking than his photos, but more importantly, he was so down to earth and sweet. He gave her a hug and kissed her cheek in greeting.
“So nice to meet you Colleen. I can’t wait to be introduced to your world”
“I’m nervous about being introduced to yours,” Colleen laughed in return.
They drove about an hour outside of town. On the ride, the conversation flowed easily. The attraction was there—the chemistry. As they continued to drive and chat, Angelo held Colleen’s hand, gently teasing her senses with his fingertips. He seemed surprised that his slightest touch seemed to take her breath away. It was as if she was highly charged, ready to explode at any second. The scent of her cologne filled the car, tantalizing his senses.
They arrived at the ranch and their horse were saddled and waiting for them. Colleen was grinning from ear to ear.
“Ready to ride, Cowboy?”
“Yes, my lovely Cowgirl.”
And they were off, laughing as the horses took off across the field. They followed the trails, enjoying the scenery and thankful for the occasional shade from the heat. When they reached the creek, they dismounted, enjoying the feel of the cool water running through their fingers. Colleen playfully splashed Angelo, and he returned the favor. Despite the water, the electricity flowed between them.
Angelo noticed a wall of greenish black clouds in the distance. Holding up his hands in surrender, he suggested they head back.
“If we don’t get going soon, we’re going to be stuck out here riding that storm out. I need to get you back safely.”
Colleen looking up at the darkening sky and agreed. She could feel the wind change. It was gusting now, and she could almost smell the rain.
Colleen mounted her horse and watched as Angelo easily climbed onto his, with his long legs stretched to the stirrups. Colleen bit her bottom lip watching him, wondering to herself how she’d gone so long without a man. The thought surprised her and she shook her head.
They made the ride back, chatting about life, as the wind picked up. The first raindrops were beginning to fall as they approached the barn. They tucked the horses safely away and headed back to town. The sky was black now the rain was coming in sheets, blowing horizontally.
Colleen’s perfume was all Angelo could smell, making it impossible for him to concentrate on anything but the scent of her. Colleen was equally distracted. It had been a long time since she’d felt this relaxed with anyone, let alone a man she found so attractive. His light t-shirt was clinging to his body, contrasting against the dark blue jeans and his tan. She fought the urge to run her fingertips down his chest. Colleen felt herself blush at the rush of tantalizing thoughts she was having. She knew she shouldn’t be fantasizing about all the things she wanted to do with him, but she couldn’t take her eyes off of him.
Once back at the hotel, Colleen felt the butterflies in her stomach slowly start to beat into a frenzy. She knew they were supposed to go out, but she wanted to stay in. The heat between them practically caused their wet clothes to steam. As Angelo leaned in close, the rest of the city faded into nonexistence. The hell with the city. She had her very own Cowboy right here. No need for the ride to stop.
After some much needed down time, Colleen and Angelo headed out to the Vegas strip. They viewed the beautiful fountains and artwork at the renowned Bellagio, taking a break to have dinner at Shula’s Steakhouse. Over dinner, they talked – really talked. Their conversation went from fun and light-hearted to deep and serious, and then back again. Angelo asked deep, thoughtful questions and waited in earnest for her answers. He was truly interested in what she had to say. Colleen realized he is incredibly intelligent, really insightful, and very gentle in nature.
After dinner, they went to the Venetian and took a romantic and magical indoor gondola ride. Colleen reclined back into Angelo’s arms, totally relaxed and enjoying the moment. When he kissed the side of her neck, she felt tingles that went all the way down to her toes. It was completely magical!
They finished off the evening in true Sin City style at Tao, the most sizzling nightclub in the city. The music pulsed through them as they swayed in time with the music. Angelo was an excellent dancer, and Colleen felt totally comfortable in his arms. The heat between them rose as they danced the night away, making the hot night air even hotter.
Once back at the hotel, they relaxed in the jacuzzi, sipping wine and talking. Angelo whispered in Colleen’s ear, causing her to blush. The heat and the water bubbled up, steam surrounding them in a veil of privacy.
Headed back to her ranch the next day, Colleen went over the trip in her mind. It was comforting to know she can work hard at the ranch and have a Cowboy just a phone call away anywhere else.
