“Alone on mothers day? The thought made me feel ill. I know it seems silly, but since the divorce mothers day had taken on a more significant meaning for me. The kids are grown, I am single, and  sometimes I don’t feel needed. So on mothers day, everyone travels to Tampa and makes a big fuss. I look forward to it, it is one of the few family gathering we have every year. This year, things have been different obviously. Although many cities and establishments are slowly opening their doors, my family is still being extra careful. I get it, I really do. But when I got the call that the kids wouldn’t make it this year for my special day- I was crushed. I wasn’t expecting that to be my reaction but it was, I had really been looking forward to seeing everyone, to feeling appreciated. Late one night on Instagram, I came across the Cowboys4angels page listing all of the male companions. I decided that if I wasn’t going to be with my tribe, I wanted to try something different.  A new restaurant had opened up on the water and I had been dying to go, the thought of fresh seafood and a live band made my heart sing. But then, the notion of going alone on mothers day was too much to bear, so I put it out of my mind. Suddenly, Cowboys4angels popped into my head- I scrambled to my phone, took the leap and booked a date with Foster. The date went amazing, better than I could have hoped for. Foster was kind, and a great listener- it turned into therapy for me! I told him all about how I was feeling, I released all the nutty thoughts in my brain and he sat back and soaked it all in. He was a pleasure and a joy. After I got all my stuff out, the night really got going. We ate creamy lobster bisque with heaps of parsley and crusty bread, clams casino dripping with butter. I got the fresh grouper and he the king crab, it was a real treat because my kids don’t like seafood- but I do, and this night was all about ME. We finished dinner and headed to the bar for some crisp white wine and Frangelico. As we were heading out, the band really picked up and started playing ’60’s doo-wop tunes, we had to stay! We ended up closing the restaurant down and going to an after hours lounge with the band! It was incredible. I felt so free and alive, I felt like it was the first mothers day in a long time where I did exactly what I wanted to do. The kids can stay in Phoenix- from here on out, THIS is my new mothers day tradition (and my birthday too!).
